What you'll do
Viasat is looking for a System Test Engineer to join our growing team. We have opportunities test system automation tool development, data analysis and reporting application tools, and system test engineering. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including systems eng, RF, digital/PL, mechanical, and test just to name a few. You will be involved in all phases of the development lifecycle: evaluation of requirements, trade studies, design, coding, unit test, integration, and maintenance. You will have the autonomy to complete your tasks but also have access to hard-working engineers and domain experts to help you succeed. Sound interesting? Keep reading....
The day-to-day
- Integration and Test of Space Flight Hardware
- Work with designers to gather test requirements
- Develop Test Plans
- Develop Test Station Hardware
- Select appropriate Test equipment
- Develop test software
- Create Test HW Bill of Materials
- Test station calibration
- Trouble shoot and problem solving on Viasat hardware
- Data Analysis of test results
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with computer programming languages such as Python, C, C++, C#, and/or Labview
- Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities
- Strong communication skills
- Current US citizenship
- Willingness to travel up to 10%
What will help you on the job
- Experience with embedded software development and also enjoys working with hardware at the circuit level.
- Experience with software development methodologies
- Experience with Object-Oriented Programming
- Experience with Agile development and Scrum framework
- Experience with Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices
- Experience with RF technologies such as amplifiers and radar
- Experience with databases
- Experience with RF and microelectronics testing
- Experience with RF test equipment such as signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, to name a few.
Salary range
$85,800.00 - $144,500.00 / annually

Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
