What you'll do:

The Strategic & Reputational Risk Associate Director will be responsible for enhancing and formalizing risk governance, identification, and reporting activities, as well as providing 2LOD Strategic and Reputational Risk oversight, effective challenge, and reporting.

The Strategic Risk team is part of the Bank's wider Risk Management department responsible for providing expert guidance, credible challenge, and effective oversight of risk-taking activities throughout the Bank. The Risk Management department plays a critical role in helping inform senior management and the Board of Directors of the risks inherent in the Bank's actions and decisions, ability to mitigate and control relevant risks, and potential enterprise impacts.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Strategic Risk Management, the ideal candidate will be driven to build and scale, ready to challenge the status quo, as well as able to comprehensively synthesize and communicate information.

What we are looking for:

Responsibilities

  • Enhance and formalize risk committee/board reporting activities, focusing on reporting accuracy, integrity, and timeliness.
  • Drive risk governance improvements, in particular reporting clarity and usefulness while balancing agenda comprehensiveness, depth, and focus.
  • Operationalize enterprise-wide risk identification and assessment processes, ensuring alignment and connectivity between top-down/bottom-up activities, quarterly/annual risk assessments, etc.
  • Manage risk committee administration, such as agenda planning, meeting minutes and follow-ups, as well as charter assessments.
  • On-going oversight and challenge of Strategic and Reputational Risk RCSAs, issues, and Risk Appetite levels/KRIs.
  • Enhancing, operationalizing, and documenting Strategic Risk management programs such as the Strategic Plan Risk Assessment, Strategic Plan Implementation monitoring, Top & Emerging Risk Reporting, KRI development and monitoring, as well as committee/board reporting.
  • Enhancing, operationalizing, and documenting Reputational Risk management programs such as client/vendor selection, KRI development and monitoring, as well as committee/board reporting.
  • Overseeing quarterly Risk Category and performing ERMC/DRC content quality reviews.
  • Coordinate definition and development of 2nd Line annual independent risk assessments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 9 -12 years of direct or related experience in Risk Management, Internal Audit, Public Accounting, or Management Consulting
  • Applied knowledge of general banking operations, governance practices, reporting/data visualization techniques, industry trends, competitive landscape, and corporate strategy
  • Strong knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices
  • Experience with enterprise-wide change management principles and/or complex initiatives
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proven ability to interact with all levels of an organization, especially senior management
  • Ability to drive multiple agendas simultaneously to achieve continuous outcomes
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills

Compensation: Salary range for new hires is generally $177,264.00 - $217,364.00 for Las Vegas, NV. Salary amount is determined by specific job location. In addition, the role may be eligible for annual bonus/incentives earned and restricted stock.
