Position Description:

Leads the design and copy team, reporting to the VP of Marketing & Communications. Will oversee the team, ensuring all of creative is within the brand voice, focused on driving retail transactions and donations, as well as other Goodwill of Central and Northern Arizona (GCNA) and its affiliated entities' priorities (e.g., supporting our Mission-based services), and within appropriate timelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the development and execution of external and internal creative (design and copy), including advertising, website content/design, speeches, announcements and more.
  • Drives improvement and cost savings initiatives through evaluating current processes, identifying best practices and developing plans to reach goals and implement improvements.
  • Understands customers' and the communities' needs, and is a true brand ambassador for GCNA.
  • Works in partnership with the Sr. Communications Manager, Sr. Director of Communications & Events, Sr. Director of Marketing Operations, Portfolio Managers and others.
  • Responsible for team performance management (coaching, discipline, performance improvement plans and annual reviews), as well as hiring top talent.
  • Plays critical role in driving company culture, change-management and innovation.

  • Performs other related duties, as appropriate.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills):

  • Bachelor's Degree in marketing, graphic arts, journalism or equivalent; preferred Master's in Fine Arts or communications/journalism.
  • Minimum of 5-7+ years of experience in the Creative field.
  • Ability to deal professionally in a corporate and not-for-profit environment, assuming responsibility for guiding design and content for initiatives from inception through completion.
  • Strong ability to think strategically and keep abreast of industry/market trends.
  • Strong history of quickly building relationships, gaining credibility and collaborating with leaders and peers.
  • Demonstrated excellence in written communication skills and design, ideally for both internal and external efforts.
  • Ability to speak and read English proficiently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to simultaneously manage multiple, complex projects in varying stages of development under time pressure and deadlines.
  • Strong MS Office skills including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
