Overview

RTI International seeks a prospect for the Human Resources Internship within the General & Administrative (G&A) unit.

The Human Resources Intern will support the Global Total Rewards (GTR) and Human Resources Operations (HR Ops) Department. As an intern in the GTR & HR Ops Department, you will have an opportunity to work on several projects crossing different HR Centers of Expertise, including Employee Benefits, Compensation, HR Information Systems, HR Analytics, and HR Operations & Compliance.

Learning Objectives:

  • Gain a basic understanding and practical experience in various Human Resources functions including: Benefits, Compensation, HR Analytics, Employee Services (HR Help Desk), HR Compliance, and Human Resources Information Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and implementation of an enhanced onboarding intranet landing page and update existing onboarding materials, resources, and tools for new hires and hiring managers.

  • Assist in the review, editing, and update of various HR informational resources including Project HR Certification Modules, instruction guides & FAQs for management of ServiceNow ticketing system, job aid/quick reference guides, HRES Operations User Manual, and other HR policies and manuals.

  • Assist with various monthly compensation reports, loading new job descriptions to RTI's job description repository and conduct regular reviews of the applicant tracking system to ensure quality.

  • Conduct best practice research to help brainstorm ideas and new solutions for various areas including benchmarks and key performance indicator (KPIs).

  • Assist in the quality control for candidate and employee communication materials such as Quick Start Guides for RTI's HR Information System to ensure accuracy and readability. Review newsletters and other social media materials and provide input.

RTI's Internship Program emphasizes experiential and mentored learning experiences, providing students and recent degree recipients an opportunity to apply their academic knowledge and skills in a meaningful and practical way. Additional Information

This hybrid paid internship will take place from June 2024 through August 2024. The internship requires a minimum commitment of 40 hours per week. Hours are flexible during business hours, Monday through Friday.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of Junior year in a four-year degree program that is related to Human Resources. Includes but is not limited to: General Business. Organizational Psychology, Organizational Development
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Demonstrate knowledge of or familiarity with quantitative research methodologies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous coursework in compensation and benefits and labor law preferred
