Responsibilities

We are looking for a Intake Counselor (Outpatient) to join our team!

POSITION SUMMARY

The Intake Counselor (Outpatient) is the initial contact for patients and referral sources, providing clinical assessment and determination of ongoing clinical needs. The Counselor provides telephonic risk assessment and in-person clinical assessment. The Counselor also, determines appropriate level of care by providing appropriate DSM V diagnosis, and consulting with the hospital psychiatrist to determine disposition. If Patient is being admitted to Outpatient, the Counselor facilities the admission process and provides appropriate clinical information for ongoing treatment. The Counselor also assists therapists with administering group therapies, completing psycho-social assessments, treatment plans, discharge plans, and other clinical related duties as assigned.

The Intake Counselor also conducts clinical evaluations and admissions for the Intensive Outpatient Program also referred to as "IOP".

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Counseling, Psychology or Human Services field, licensed RN or Masters in Social Work.
  • LMSW, LCSW, LAC, LPC, LASAC, LISAC required.
  • Prior admissions clinical assessment, knowledge of counseling, psychotherapy, obtained through the completion of a master's degree and Licensure through board of behavioral health examiners. And crisis de-escalation experience with a psychiatric mental health population, preferably in an inpatient setting.
  • Must have or be able to obtain level 1 fingerprint clearance card.
