Kennedy Jenks is seeking an experienced Project Manager in the Phoenix area with design expertise in the water/wastewater industry. Come join a new growing KJ market! A successful candidate will play a vital role in evaluation and supporting design and construction of conveyance facilities relating to water, wastewater, recycled water, utility infrastructure projects and treatment process improvement projects. The Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing and overseeing various water and wastewater infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate project technical work from the planning phase through construction, providing engineering expertise on all aspects of small to large water/wastewater civil infrastructure projects including, but not limited to, water distribution and transmission pipelines, sanitary sewer collection systems, treatment systems, and pump stations.
  • Design and analysis; Lead and prepare detailed design, specifications and drawings, design calculations.
  • Provide technical support, write technical reports and maintain accurate project records, reports and documentation and expertise to multi-disciplinary project teams.
  • Project management; support projects from conception through construction coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Lead small projects and attend both internal and external meetings where necessary.
  • Lead and/or participate in business development efforts including direct client interaction, coordination with marketing staff, preparing proposals, and participating in interview teams.
  • Conduct project engineering work such as studies, conceptual and preliminary design, final design, bidding, and construction support services.
  • Perform project management activities including preparing and negotiating professional services contracts, managing the quality and financial performance of projects, coordination with subconsultants, and identifying and resolving budget and schedule issues.
  • Supervise, build and mentor project teams and foster a collaborative and productive work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or similar field.
  • 7+ years of related water/wastewater engineering experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain PE.
  • Experience relevant software including Bluebeam, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Civil3D and Microsoft products.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, codes and regulations.
  • Strong technical knowledge of the water/wastewater industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide excellent client service and interact positively with clients.

Salary range for this position will vary based upon education, experience, qualifications, licensure/certifications and geographic location.
