Job Summary

Information Technology Services (ITS) at the MCCCD is looking to add a Sr Financial Aid Business Systems Analyst to the Student Information System (SIS) team. This role engages with financial aid staff at the colleges and the District Office to assess complex business and/or technical problems, define system requirements, and use the system to facilitate the administration of financial aid to our students. This position works with other Sr Financial Aid Business Systems Analysts to document critical functional specifications related to the capabilities of the SIS system. In addition, this position collaborates with key stakeholders to resolve issues, test new/updated functionality, and communicate the impact of updates and enhancements to the business units. This position may work with multiple functional areas.

Essential Functions

40% - Leads efforts with college and District Office customers to facilitate the successful execution of complex financial aid business processes districtwide; advises and guides decision-making
30% - Researches, analyzes, and coordinates resolution of complex system issues reported by users; performs complex, highly visible tasks within SIS to meet business needs
20% - Coordinates and writes specifications for system enhancement; serves as subject matter expert and at times technical lead for medium to large SIS projects
10% - Researches industry standards, trends and best practices and makes recommendations for implementation; performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in any field and four (4) years of business systems analysis experience including business process design, business requirements definition, workflow documentation and/or acceptance testing.

OR

Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in any field and six (6) years of business systems analysis experience including business process design, business requirements definition, workflow documentation and/or acceptance testing.

OR

High School Diploma/GED and eight (8) years of business systems analysis experience including business process design, business requirements definition, workflow documentation and/or acceptance testing.

Desired Qualifications

A. Experience working with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions financial aid module
B. Experience creating and executing test scripts
C. Experience with PS Query or SQL Developer
D. Experience troubleshooting software issues and communicating resolutions
E. Experience gathering business requirements and creating functional specifications

  • This position can be on-premise or virtual based on the location of the selected candidate.
