Healthcare Superintendent

POSITION SUMMARY

The Superintendent will supervise, manage, and direct all areas of an organization's commercial and general contracting possibilities (with a concentration on healthcare initiatives). They will oversee directing the team, organizing all construction sequencing, and meeting project targets to ensure that each project is completed on time and profitably.

It supervises the architectural, engineering, bidding, contracting, building, inspection from the beginning to the end of the project and specializes in concrete self-preform on large commercial scale.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The superintendent will oversee the construction process, ensuring adherence to project procedures, safety protocols, and work rules.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, and quality while maintaining efficient use of materials and equipment.
  • Develop phasing and sequencing plans to meet project milestones.
  • Communicate regularly with project owners, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure that all project goals and objectives are met.
  • Supervising craft employees and on-site company personnel.
  • Mentoring and encouraging subordinate growth and development.
  • Upholding Okland's corporate values in hiring and dismissal procedures.
  • Collaborating with project managers to develop and maintain project schedules and logistics plans.
  • Ensuring compliance with trade partner contract agreements.
  • Holding parties accountable while maintaining fairness
  • Perform regular site inspections to ensure that all work is being completed to the highest quality standards.
  • Some time in office, primarily prior to project start and after project completion.

Healthcare-Specific Expertise:

  • Clean Room Management: Understanding the stringent requirements for clean rooms within healthcare facilities. Ensuring compliance with cleanliness standards, air quality, and contamination control.
  • Infection Control Measures: Implementing protocols to prevent the spread of infections during construction activities.
  • Medical Equipment Coordination: Collaborating with medical equipment vendors and facility staff to ensure seamless integration of specialized equipment.
  • Life Safety Systems: Familiarity with healthcare-specific life safety systems, including fire suppression, emergency exits, and evacuation plans.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or a related field.
  • 5+ yearsof related experience working on commercial construction/healthcare projects.
  • Proven success in managing projects with a total scope of$30 million to $100 million.
  • Familiarity with healthcare-specific construction requirements and regulations.
  • Must be able to clear government and hospital access requirements which may include backgrounds checks, immunizations, etc.
  • Experience with project management software and tools, such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar.
  • Ability to maintain working, positive relationships with subcontractors, owners, and co-workers.
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, memos, blueprints, contract documents and specifications, and CPM schedules.
