Overall Purpose

We are seeking an innovative Product Manager Intern to join the Zelle team to help bring a new payment product to market. As an Product Manager Intern, your duties will include analyzing consumer behavior and industry trends, translating customer feedback into product features, finding solutions for product defects, and prioritizing work with a high-impact Engineering team. To be successful in this role, you should possess the ability to contribute appropriate product-related insights and strategies.

This position typically will be for a 12-week period and will work under the direct supervision of a department manager or designee.

Essential Functions

  • Work daily with the Engineering Delivery team to prioritize and deliver software to meet product objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to document and refine product requirements.
  • Develop mechanisms to capture and report on key product metrics.
  • Communicate across the company to demonstrate progress toward key product milestones.
  • Develop ways to communicate with various customer segments to derive new product features that deliver against key company objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college program with course work related to the internship or general knowledge acquired as normally obtained through the completion of a bachelor's degree.
  • Must be able to communicate with various levels of employees within the department and proven technical and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of basic software concepts or similar technical experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work with data, take stakeholder input, and translate product features into clear deliverable parts.
  • Proficiency with commonly used office software and personal computers may be necessary, depending on assignment.
  • Self-starter with ability to balance multiple deliverables.
  • Background and drug screen.
  • Must be US Citizen or US National only.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in gathering and interpreting qualitative product data and consumer feedback.
  • Ability to analyze industry trends and competitor behavior.
  • Exceptional ability to identify improved product features and contribute to marketing strategies.
  • Ability to report to the Product Manager and collaborate with the product development team.
  • Proficiency in compiling project status, risk management, and marketing reports.
  • Ability to maintain strong customer relations and provide product support.
  • Competency in training internal departments on new product features.

Physical Requirements

Working conditions consist of a normal office environment. Work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive use of a computer and involves sitting for periods of approximately four hours. Work may require occasional standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching. Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently. Requires visual acuity and dexterity to view, prepare, and manipulate documents and office equipment including personal computers. Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers.
