Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to join our team as a Consultant Controller! As a Consultant Controller, you will play a crucial role in providing financial leadership, strategic guidance and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, excellent analytical skills, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality services.

Your daily responsibilities in the Consultant Controller role will generally include:
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards
  • Work on development, monitoring and analysis of budgets and forecasts
  • Conduct regular financial analyses to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement
  • Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making
  • Develop and implement internal control procedures and ensure operational effectiveness
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of all required tax returns
  • Coordinate and manage external audits, providing necessary documentation and ensuring a smooth audit process
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting team
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll
  • Collaborate with executive leadership on financial planning and decision-making
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks through ongoing analysis and proactive measures
  • Respond to ad hoc requests for financial information and analysis from executive leadership
Qualifications include:
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA certification preferred
  • Proven experience as a Controller or similar financial leadership role, with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations and reporting requirements
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information to diverse audiences
  • Advanced in Excel and proficient in financial software/ERP systems
  • Commitment to duration and needs of project, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, client-focused consulting environment

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure.
