Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reviews purchase requisitions to determine material requirements and appropriate suppliers.
  • Create Request For Quote (RFQ's) to send to suppliers to get updated pricing to convert RFQ's to Purchase Orders (PO's)
  • Track the status of all PO's and follow up with suppliers to ensure material arrives as needed to support production.
  • Review Material Requirements Planning (MRP) exceptions and work with suppliers to accommodate changes.
  • Adherence to Compliance Plan and Employee Policy Manual.

  • Provide latest engineering drawings to suppliers and work closely with Engineering to resolve any issues that would delay material from arriving on time.
  • Develop and nurture mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers.
  • Work closely with Planning and Inventory Control to identify and resolve discrepancies.

Qualifications for the Buyer II

Education and Experience for the Buyer II

A High School Diploma or GED equivalent; and a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in a Buyer/ Procurement role; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Professional Qualifications for the Buyer II

Required:

  • Must be proficient with ERP/MRP type software and have hands on experience interpreting MRP data and creating purchase orders.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from colleagues
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, Outlook, PowerPoint; Project and Access as required)
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Strong customer service and company culture/reputation orientation

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.

Physical Demands for the Buyer II

While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to walk, stand and sit. The incumbent is occasionally required to stoop, bend, or kneel. The incumbent must lift and carry 25 pounds and occasionally lift or carry a maximum of 50 pounds; as well as push or pull a maximum of 200 pounds. The incumbent will use office equipment including but not limited to telephones, computers, copiers and printers and occasionally use hand tools including but not limited to wrenches, sockets, drills, screwdrivers, rulers, and calipers. The incumbent will occasionally use powered equipment including but not limited to company vehicles, forklifts, golf carts and wave lift.

Work Environment for the Buyer II

While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is occasionally exposed to mechanical parts and occasionally exposed to heat or cold ranging between 70 and 80 degree ambient conditions, and dust. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate (<85dB). The incumbent is required to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) including safety glasses and work gloves.

  • Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with OSHA standards.
  • Comply with all Safety policies as outlined by the company standards and local, state and federal laws.
  • In accordance with Robertson Fuel Systems' Arizona Drug and Alcohol Policy, this position is designated as a safety-sensitive position.
