HID Trade Operations:

This position will be a part of the Global Trade team and will report to the Global Trade Classification Manager, as part of HID operations. This role will be responsible for classification of HID products in adherence to international trade regulatory standards. You will work closely across multiple functional areas and some external partnerships in supporting proper classification for HID products globally.

As ourTrade Classification Analyst, you'll support HID's successby:

  • Determining the classification of products using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the U.S. according to the General Rules of Interpretation, Binding Rulings, and other established customs guidelines.
  • Applying the criteria specified in the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) to determine the appropriate Export Control Classification Number (ECCN).
  • Maintaining and updating product classification details in ERP and supporting systems to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Engineering and Procurement, to gather necessary information and documentation for accurate classification.
  • Administering internal audit processes for accurate classifications for import entries.
  • Auditing and providing oversight of third-party providers (i.e., customs brokers).
  • Responding to classification inquiries and shipment issues from customs brokers, government agencies, internal customers, external customers, and vendors for international shipments.
  • Continuously evaluating and improving processes and procedures to streamline and enhance trade compliance efforts.
  • Keeping updated on changes in trade classifications and communicating any potential impact to the company.

What we will like about your background:

  • Working knowledge of trade regulations, tariffs, and preferential trade agreements, import/export policies, and custom clearance procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and analytical capabilities.
  • Experience working in a global and matrixed organization.

YourExperienceand Education include:

  • Bachelor's Degree highly preferred.
  • Engineering or Business Administration (preferably Supply chain related field) a big plus.
  • 2-4 years' experience in a supply chain, logistics and/or trade compliance in a manufacturing company preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, communication, listening and analytical skills required.
  • Experience in reading and understanding technical drawings and specifications of highly technical items such as RF/Encrypted products is preferred.
  • Proficiency with MS office applications.
  • Experience with Oracle ERP and other data analytic platforms a plus.
