Job Summary

This position will assist the Career Services Department with coordinating and administering STEM career and experiential learning opportunities in support of Title III grant initiatives. The position will develop STEM partnerships, assist with program management and evaluation, problem-resolution and technical day-to-day assistance. It will provide continuous tracking and monitoring of program milestones, prepare reports and maintain records. The position will also provide guidance, direction and support to the programs/services offered through the Career Services Department and serve as a resource to residential and adjunct faculty, students, external partners, and staff.

Essential Functions

35% Performs career and experiential learning program coordination and recruitment opportunities such as internships, industry events, etc. Works with faculty and staff, employers and agencies (nonprofits, companies, small businesses, and government agencies) to secure partnerships. Works with students and monitors placements for off/on-campus interns.

20 % Coordinates projects, events and activities for grant and Career Services Department.

15% Continuously develops, maintains, tracks, and monitor program milestones and reports for department and grant; and conducts surveys and/or analyzes and maintains program data to gauge program effectiveness.

15% Reviews program requirements to evaluate and determine eligibility and compliance of experiential education partners.

10% Provides career related support to Career Services department and staff (resume, interviewing coaching to students).

5% Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution and two years of student services or college teaching experience or experience assisting with educational program development and coordination, student advisement, financial aid, or related student development programs.

OR

An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.

Desired Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree in education, business administration, STEM, or directly related field
  2. One (1) year of experience developing business and community partnerships
  3. One (1) year of experience developing or coordinating programs
  4. One (1) year of experience with tracking/collecting data and creating reports
  5. One (1) year of experience collaborating with faculty and staff on events and/or programming
  6. One (1) year of experience with public speaking and delivering presentations to diverse audiences in both small and large group settings


Special Working Conditions
  • Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D driver's license is required; must meet minimum standards regarding driving:
  • Travel to campus during interview/selection process will be at candidate's own expense
  • May be required to travel or be assigned to all MCCCD locations
  • May require numerous evenings or weekends
  • May require prolonged periods of viewing a computer screen
  • May be required to lift or carry up to #25 lbs
