Job Description
DEKA Research and Development, housed in Manchester, NH, is looking for a dynamic, results driven and inventive individual to join our team as a Failure Analysis Engineer. How you will make an impact:
  • Systematically process, sort, and prioritize returned medical products for evaluation
  • Conduct detailed failure analysis of returned medical products and document findings, including reviewing and interpreting log data and physical evaluation
  • Accurately report product investigations within a FDA-compliant Quality Management System following good documentation practices
  • Consolidate and analyze data from field investigations to identify potential trends
  • Support implementation of product improvements based on findings to enhance product quality and patient quality of life
  • Actively participate in maintaining records on returned products
  • Actively participate in maintaining returned material investigation procedures
  • Maintain an overall level of product quality in line with DEKA and regulatory standards
  • Collaborate with representatives from various engineering disciplines to determine root cause
  • Configure and operate computer based data acquisition equipment
To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills and abilities:
  • MS/BS in Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred
  • 1+ years' experience in Biomedical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Hands on experience with electro-mechanical devices
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and software description documents
  • Passion for biomedical technologies and problem solving using first principles thinking
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, detailed oriented
  • Candidates should be prepared to give specific examples of hands-on academic projects and/or pertinent work experience. Examples include group projects demonstrating leadership and/or collaboration, and situations of self-initiated learning and progression (both academic and non-academic)
