Pay Range

Prosecutors hired at a level I will be compensated at a range of $77,500.00 - $95,742.40 annually (Prorated based on part-time hours)

Prosecutors hired at a level II will be compensated at a range of $90,500.00 - $130,500.00 annually (Prorated based on part-time hours)

Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. The position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

About the Position

The Juvenile Prosecutor is tasked with prosecuting criminal cases for the Maricopa County Attorney's Office and providing competent legal advice and services.

We Require

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an American Bar Association (ABA) approved law school

Other Requirements

  • Candidates who are currently admitted to practice law and are in good standing with the State Bar of Arizona

Job Contributions

  • Negotiate the just resolution of assigned cases and comply with Victims' Rights

  • Maintain professional relationships with victims, witnesses, law enforcement agencies, and members of the community

  • Discuss and present the analysis of legal issues

  • Conduct trials and present oral arguments as needed

  • Compose memoranda and pleadings regarding legal issues of concern as needed in assigned cases

  • Interview witnesses regarding facts as needed in the prosecution of the case(s)

  • Research and analyze legal issues using both computerized legal research and hard copy tools

  • Cover court and other duties as assigned

  • Comply with all rules regulating professional responsibility, including specific rules addressing the prosecutorial function

Working Conditions

  • Office and courtroom setting in high-volume, fast-paced environment with frequent stressful situations

  • May require long periods of sitting while completing paperwork, standing, and moving about during the course of performing duties

  • Ability to travel to and from various county locations for court appearances, meetings, and trainings, utilizing personal or county-owned vehicle

  • Ability to move up to 20 pounds
