In this role, you have the opportunity to

Test and troubleshoot state-of-the-art complex digital system assemblies in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment with cutting edge equipment.

You are responsible for

  • The candidate must be able to apply electronics principles in the test and troubleshooting of high-density multi-system (multiple CPU/FPGA) assemblies, to the component level.
  • The Test Technician will perform electrical testing that verify fit, form, and functionality of multiple PCB assemblies via Takaya Flying Probe equipment.
  • Learning and applying methods/techniques for effectively monitoring various diagnostics tests and measuring performance on complex systems.
  • Selection, set up, and deployment of test equipment and programming necessary for flying probe testing.
  • Verification and validation of product configuration, test processes and test equipment/setup configuration and operation.
  • Measuring, collecting, and recording of performance data that verifies the reliability and validity of the desired function; prepare accurate and complete test reports of all recorded data.
  • Updating and verification of programs as needed.
  • Troubleshooting of systems, devices, processes and/or test set-ups to locate and repair defective areas.
  • Assisting engineers in submission of processes and operations that assure proper function of product and test equipment per design specifications by working from general block diagrams, rough outlines of basic circuits, oral instructions, schematics, etc.; making necessary calculations to obtain or compare data as required.
  • Performing initial procedural tests on new and/or changed equipment; submitting recommendations for modifications as required to achieve desired results as needed.
  • Submission of defects reporting, non-conforming materials reports, and communication with production team in resolution of defects/product failures.
  • Any other task assigned by supervisor.

  • Excellent Teamwork and Communications Skills: Ability to work with others in team environment to meet deadlines and complete tasks in a timely manner. Ideal candidates will have the ability to communicate with other team members and associated parties in a thorough and timely manner.
  • Knowledge of production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing efficiency within manufacturing. Ability to read and perform test procedures and communicate effectively in the event of potential issues.
  • Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Ability to determine root cause(s) of operating errors and methodologies used to resolve them; ability to apply logic and reason to identify complex problems and develop solutions, ability to predict how changes in operations and process flow will affect manufacturing efficiencies and quality of finished product.
  • Electronics Troubleshooting/Debugging Knowledge: Ability to read and interpret complex schematics and functional/diagnostic specifications for determining root cause of failures in test environment.
  • Training: Able to maintain training to applicable equipment and procedures as assigned per job title.
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, Oracle, FactoryLogix/Aegis, terminal emulator applications a plus.
  • Siemens Valor suite and Test Expert/Takaya working knowledge preferred.

Purpose: This position is for a mid-entry individual contributor in the Test sub-family, working under limited supervision in routine and defined situations.

Responsibility Statement: Performs complex testing and moderate problem solving on digital systems and subassemblies on Flying Probe equipment. Has solid understanding of manufacturing quality standards and can read schematics or other technical data as needed. Ability to prepare complex test reports and data in accordance with functional and acceptance level test procedures, may be requested to assist with red-lining of existing functional testing procedures. May need to perform complex testing; Thermal, Shock, Vibration and Environmental Tests. Troubleshoots and can determine root cause for issues with assemblies, debugging of moderate to complex problems. Uses a variety of test equipment; including oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters, serial emulators, networking devices, and other tools found in a testing laboratory to ensure the highest quality of integrated and tested products

Additional Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Ability to work with little to no general instruction on daily activities. Solid knowledge of testing methods and troubleshooting processes. Strong reading, writing English, and arithmetic skills required. Understanding of electrical theory and principles such as Ohm's law and circuit analysis are a must.

Education: Associate degree, H.S. Diploma

Work Experience: Experience in testing and troubleshooting electrical components, 3+ Years
