Acara Solutions is looking for a Process Engineer with Chemical Manufacturing experience for one of our clients in Phoenix, AZ

The schedule will tentatively be 6:00 am to 2:30 pm.

Designs and implements systems and equipment procedures in the production facilities. Responsible for coordinating and managing activities related to processes, equipment, and facilities requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintains product quality and manufacturing effectiveness through daily troubleshooting and resolution of process difficulties.
  • Optimizes manufacturing processes to provide sustainable gains in cost effectiveness and product performance through capital projects, statistical analysis, designed experiments, and procedural changes.
  • Works with customers to resolve technical/quality issues and provide special products.
  • Participates in multifunctional teams (Operations, Marketing, Quality, Regulatory, etc.) to resolve problems and develop new products.
  • Starts-up new products and equipment (coordinates installation, troubleshoots initial production, ensures new processes and products meet requirements, documents, and transfers to Production).
  • Evaluate current processes and develop/implement improvements to safety, quality, and efficiency.
  • Participate as a member of the technical group providing information and assistance to sales staff, customers or internal personnel as needed.
  • Provide training and mentorship to production and technical staff.
  • Support Employee Health and Safety through analysis, assessment, and process improvements.
  • Support Environmental and Regulatory issues pertaining to air quality and waste management to include assistance with inspection, testing, permitting/registration, and reporting,
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Operations.
Job Requirements
Required Skills / Qualifications:
  • BS degree in Engineering, or equivalent BS degree in other science, plus demonstrated professional level engineering experience with manufacturing processes.
  • Hazardous Management Waste certification desirable
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience in a production or chemical manufacturing environment
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Office software (especially Excel)
  • Project management experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve highly technical problems.
  • Strong technical writing ability
  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies (Six Sigma, lean manufacturing)
  • Ability to execute tasks with minimal oversight.
  • Excellent presentation and verbal communication skills
