Job Location: Houston TX. Relocation assistance is available.

As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director, EHS & Sustainability to lead our efforts in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, minimizing our environmental impact, and advancing sustainability initiatives.

The Director, EHS & Sustainability will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of environmental, health, and safety compliance, as well as driving sustainability initiatives within StandardAero's aerospace operations. This role requires a proven leader who can balance regulatory compliance, risk management, implement the sustainability strategy, and cultivate future leaders to ensure the organization's long-term success.

What you'll do:

  • Operational Advancement- Support Operations Leadership to develop and drive site level programs & operationalize initiatives
  • EHS Compliance: Ensure business sector compliance with all local, state, federal, and international EHS regulations and standards relevant to aerospace operations.
  • System Expansion and Performance- Implement ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 systems integration, audits, continuous improvement and performance to protect human health and the environment.
  • Safety Culture: Lead a culture of safety across the business sector, promoting awareness, training, and continuous improvement in safety practices on and off the job site.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate EHS risks, implementing proactive measures to prevent accidents and incidents.
  • Environmental Stewardship: Develop and implement strategies to reduce the environmental footprint of aerospace operations, including waste reduction, energy efficiency, and emissions reduction.
  • Sustainability Strategy: Lead the enhancement and execution of the company's comprehensive sustainability strategy, integrating sustainable practices into business operations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal teams, regulatory bodies, and external stakeholders to build relationships and communicate EHS and sustainability initiatives effectively.
  • Business EHS Continuity: Provide for Site EHS team member development, guidance, support and backup to ensure success.
  • Reporting and Metrics: Implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure EHS and sustainability progress, and report regularly to senior management and relevant authorities. Provide KPI data assimilation, quality assurance and enable defensible corporate data reporting.
  • Compliance Auditing: Conduct regular program and system audits and assessments to ensure adherence to EHS and sustainability standards.
  • Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures to address potential crises effectively.
  • Budget Management: Manage the EHS and sustainability budget, optimizing resource allocation for maximum impact.
  • Due Diligence: Support environmental diligence, EHS program and resource integration during company growth and expansion.


What skills you will use:

  • Strong knowledge of EHS regulations, compliance, and best practices
  • 7+ Years of experience of progressive experience in EHS and sustainability management
  • Proven experience in developing and executing sustainability initiatives.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools for data analysis and reporting.


Preferred Characteristics:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in EHS and sustainability management within the aerospace industry.
  • Human factors and behavior-based safety system certification preferred.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification preferred.
