Join our Medical-Surgical transportation team in Richmond, VA or Jacksonville, FL as an Associate Transportation Analyst. In this role, you will collaborate with internal and external partners daily, and duties will include reconciling freight invoices, compiling reports and metrics, providing timely and actionable communications, gathering data, and resolving logistics issues for domestic outbound freight shipments.

Key Responsibilities:

Carrier Relations

  • Maintain and deliver established carrier reporting
  • Research, analyze and verify information for carrier inquiries
  • Maintain carrier contract records
  • Drive compliance to ensure all carrier certificates of insurance are documented and within policy renewal dates
  • Review carrier on time performance and provide KPI reporting
  • File freight claims and identify reoccurring issues
  • Assist team to communicate regularly inside and outside organization particularly with disaster recovery maps
  • Collaborate with the team to monitor and understand all freight and accessorial trends
  • Work closely with Corporate Transportation to support strategic and long-term projects

Customer Support

  • Provide answers to customer service inquiries for delivery statuses
  • Coordinate resolutions to customer issues with carriers and customer service
  • Provide package disposition as needed
  • Provide freight quotes using online tools
  • Produce ad-hoc carrier reports as required for customer and field support

Freight Pay

  • Be an expert on freight auditor's system to run reports, verify payments and resolve invoice discrepancies
  • Ensure proper GL coding of invoices
  • Provide carrier contracts and rates for new carrier onboarding and renewals
  • Monitor trend reports and make recommendations for savings opportunities - accessorials, freight charges, etc.
  • Be the liaison between MMS and Corporate Accounts Payable to research and resolve carrier payments
  • Provide recommendations for improvement for carrier payment processing

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Degree or equivalent; 4-year degree in related field preferred
  • 2+ years relevant experience; transportation or distribution logistics preferred
  • Advanced proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Critical Skills:

  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving
  • Proven history of effective communications and analytics

  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Proven attention to detail
  • Exceptional time and task management with ability to work on multiple tasks with demanding timelines
  • Strong organization and time management skills are necessary to prioritize assignments and multi-task
  • Freight auditing and invoicing experience
  • High sense of urgency
  • High degree of flexibility, adaptability, confidentiality, discretion, diplomacy and tact
  • Collaborative and team-based approach to problem-solving

In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$20.52 - $34.20
