Current Need

We are seeking a Government Proposal Specialist to join our team in the Richmond, VA or Jacksonville, FL location.

Position Description

Government Proposal Specialists manage bid/RFP and contract amendment, extension, and renewal requests from government entities. The Proposal Specialist is responsible for coordinating with Sales, Legal, Compliance and other Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify, develop, and deliver each proposal in accordance with government regulations and within requested specifications. This includes review and knowledge of government terms and conditions, bid package preparation, submission, and the award process.The Proposal Specialist ensures adherence to published policies and procedures including detailed documentation in the designated bid & contract tracking repositories for all proposals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage all bid opportunities for government business from bid through award

  • Own and manage other projects that include government terms and conditions

  • Maintain and update the central repositories for all projects

  • Work collaboratively with all departments to increase our success with opportunities and support internal initiatives to improve our value proposition in the government space

  • SME in Government procurement and stays current with all new or amended internal policies and procedures

  • Extensive knowledge of McKesson's standard policies and procedures and identifies and escalates any possible risk and/or required approval(s)

Minimum Requirements

2+ years of proposals or contracts experience

Critical Skills

  • 2+ years of Federal , State or Local proposal experience including analysis and leading proposals

  • Business writing skills including experience with editing, proofreading and writing.

  • Experience managing multiple and overlapping deadlines

  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced , Sales environment

  • Independent project experience (i.e., coordinating multiple proposal and other projects simultaneously).

  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with Adobe Acrobat.

Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • Demonstrated professional communication skills (both written and verbal); Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization.

  • Thorough knowledge of healthcare distribution operations.

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and work independently.

  • Experience responding to RFPs preferred

Education

4-year degree or equivalent experience. HS Diploma required. Paralegal certificate preferred.
