Position title: Lead Network Systems Engineer, Firewall

Position Description

The Lead Firewall Engineer is responsible for developing and utilizing procedures and checklists, maintenance plans, security designs and other documentation to support the overall security infrastructure. They will need to work closely with various equipment vendors, members of other departments, and are expected to coordinate resources, delegate tasks to fellow Firewall Engineers and track and report progress when leading projects.

Key Responsibilities

This role will lead a support-engineering team responsible for the design, build, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of the Palo Alto firewall infrastructure

  • Lead and oversee the Firewall Engineering Organization Team thru direction and projects
  • Utilize subject matter knowledge in industry leading security solutions and best practices to implement one or more components of information security
  • Participate in strategic initiatives and identify opportunities for technology operations
  • Set guidelines for compliance and risk management requirements for supported area ands work with other stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
  • Review, analyze and escalate issues from key metric analysis, event monitors, reported service deviations, and documented changes
  • Problem management at Level 4 with support as well as effective escalation as required

Critical Skills

  • Minimum 5+ years of hands on Palo Alto experience and leading teams with security solutions in large environments.
  • 5+ year of experience utilizing, troubleshooting, and supporting Palo Alto Networks platforms
  • Minimum 3+ years supporting and implementing Zscaler, Prisma Access, WAF
  • Thorough understanding of VPN's, IDS/IPS, end point security solutions (AV, HIPS, Hard Disk Encryption), strong Authentication products (RSA SecurID)

Additional Knowledge & Skills

  • Proven experience supporting & troubleshooting complex systems
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to work with customers to prioritize issues & communicate status
  • Self-starter, capable of seeing projects/fixes through to completion
  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively across multiple deliverables
  • Effective analytical, business analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize/communicate conflicting demands
  • Ability to design and implement solutions

Education

Bachelor's degree, preferably IT or Computer Science discipline

As part of Total Rewards, we are proud to offer a competitive compensation package at McKesson. This is determined by several factors, including performance, experience and skills, equity, regular job market evaluations, and geographical markets. In addition to base pay, other compensation, such as an annual bonus or long-term incentive opportunities may be offered.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$124,400 - $207,400
