JOB PURPOSE

The Research Associate Internship position that would assist with the tracking of Chinese and Russian business activity, as well as helping draft analytic products interpreting the significance of this activity for clients.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AT JANES

The position entails online research, writing, and analysis. The successful candidate must be enrolled in a bachelors or masters program in a relevant field, such as economics, business, international affairs, or regional studies.

  • Proven research skills and experience
  • Keen attention to detail and quality control
  • Analytic ability
  • Ability to work under daily deadlines
  • Experience and knowledge of matters pertaining to China
  • An understanding of international political economy and finance
  • Competence with Microsoft Office suite
  • Mandarin language skills are preferred

The intern will have the opportunity of learning more about international security and global business while also gaining insight into the practical operation of a globally recognized professional research firm in the nations capital. In addition, the position affords qualified candidates the ability to gain experience in the larger fields of international relations, politics, and economics while improving communication, research, and networking skills.
