The position will support Meggitt Tucson's Engineering Department in its execution of system engineering activities in a timely manner and to supplement Systems Engineering role by developing plans and reports, designing system interface test criteria and equipment, and contributing to the development of a system of procedures for Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirement and regulation compliance.
Systems Engineering support role for the following:
-Allocation of system requirements
-Allocation of system tests and evaluations
-Reliability analyses of articles and total systems
-Validate article and system test configurations
-Develop and verify software for automated test equipment
-Perform hands-on construction of article and system test equipment
-Participate with system of processes development for (FAA) requirement and regulation compliance
*Developing systems engineering reports and reliability analyses
*Drafting test plans and procedures
*On the job learning of Systems Engineering principles and Meggitt Tucson Processes
*Employ knowledge and skills learned from school in day-to-day work
*Other responsibilities as assigned
*Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
Education: Currently enrolled in Junior level Engineering classes (300 level) with a minimum GPA of 3.0
Years Experience: 0-2 years of relevant experience
Skills:
- Currently studying under a BSSE, BSME, BSEE or other applicable degree at a 4 year university
- Studying under a postgraduate degree is also acceptable
- Desire to continuously increase personal capabilities and engineering skills
- Self-motivated
- Proven track record of commitment to school work
- Proficient with MS Office (e.g. Word, Excel)
- Basic knowledge of systems engineering preferred
Other important information: This is a year round internship with the potential to last through graduation. Candidates should be local.
