Engineering Intern - TSG - BWX Technologies, Inc. - Lynchburg, VA

BWXT is seeking qualified and motivated college students to join our highly skilled team of engineers for unique opportunities at our Nuclear Services Group project sites. BWXT offers paid internships at many of our sites across the nation, including in Idaho, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Tennessee, and Pennsylvania. Interns hired for this position will perform challenging tasks in their Construction Management or Safety Engineering field of study while developing and deliveringunique engineering solutions used in a nuclear environment.

Among other tasks, our interns can expect to build skills in problem solving, work in a field environment and interact with field team members and address challenges that arise, prepare and manage work schedules for field crews as well as subcontractors, and assist with project management and procurement of materials as needed. Enhance your ability to read and understand construction prints, and familiarity with basic OSHA regulations skills. Be a part of something big and help support the defense industry while gaining valuable knowledge and honing your skills.

Successful candidates must be currently enrolled in an accreditedcollege/university studying Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Safety Engineering or another closely related fieldAND:

  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Have successfully completed courses or have experience in engineering drawing such asAutoCad andSolid Works.

Internships will last approximately 10-12 weeks, but may be extended in some situations. At the conclusion of the internship, students will be required to present a detailed project report describing their completed work and assigned projects.
