Job Description Summary

Responsible for supporting the overall business development activities for AAM's Casting Business Unit (CBU). The successful Co-Op candidate will work in a fast-paced and rewarding environment, where he/she will gain great knowledge from the support and encouragement of experienced professionals in achieving real life tangible performance metrics.

Job Description

  • Support the Procurement Business Group
  • Assists with the construction of the overall commodity management strategy
  • Gather and assemble data into detailed reports from internal and external sources.
  • Analyze and compare gathered data for errors to keep information uniformed across the Casting Business Unit.
  • Lead coordination of supplier record management; update contact information, duplications, missing financials, P.O. Addresses.
  • Communicate with assigned procurement personnel at CBU locations on progress of individual commodity management requests and support where needed.
  • Communicate and follow up with suppliers when needed.
  • Strategize, develop and suggest new approaches to the overall commodity management strategy.
  • Other tasks as assigned

Required Skills and Education

  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program. Preferred majors are: Technical, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Purchasing
  • Must have a 3.0 G.P.A. or above preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy of information
  • Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and the ability to learn other programs used by various AAM departments.
  • Excellent organization skills.
